Take a peak.......
Inch by inch, Callie Ann made her way up the trellis, carefully avoiding pricks from the thick thorns that seemed to be yelling, “get off my house!” The window seemed to move farther away the closer she came to grasping the ledge. She looked down, at least sixteen feet and thanked God for Nike’s.
Finally her pink nails tapped on the window pane. There was the groom, as handsome as ever in his jeans, tuxedo shirt and socks. She steadied herself with one hand and raised the window with the other. One foot in and the other hung on a stubborn thorn attached to her sock. Every time she tugged her foot the thorn tapped away at her bare leg.
“Ahh! Ohhh!” With one last gulp and a few trickles of blood, Callie Ann had made it through the window and fell onto the hardwood floor, trying not to curse in church since it was bad enough God would hold her responsible for the crushed roses.
“Cal!” The handsome groom yelled as he turned around to find her on the floor. He rushed to her side, brushing the stray blonde curls from her face. “Cal? What are you doing here? How did you get up here? Look at you, you’re bleeding!” He said as he bent to wipe away the blood with his tuxedo shirt.
Callie Ann regained her composure and stood.
“Doug, marry me! I love you! You don’t want to marry Julia, marry me!”
